ADONIS is a Free Finite Element Software for Geo-Engineers.

It is an easy-to-use tool for modelling and computational simulation of geotechnical problems, including linear and nonlinear analysis methods, available in 11 different languages.

The program features a full graphical user interface (GUI) that can be used for pre-processing and post-processing.

Its interface makes it easy to produce complex finite element meshes and features a fully automatic triangular mesh generator.

Complex geometries can also be imported to the software directly from DXF files and be characterized by one of the six constitutive material models available. More specifically, those are IsoElastic, Mohr-Coulomb, Strain-Hardening/Softening, Modified Cam-Clay, Hoek-Brown and Modified Hoek-Brown. In addition to those, it is also possible for user-defined constitutive models to be defined within the software.

Along with the many available solutions, the software provides an automatic Factor of Safety solution, using the Strength Reduction Method.

Finally, a main advantage of ADONIS is its interchangeability with other commercial software and the ability to import/export tabulated results as an ASCII data file, in addition to the production of graphical presentations.
