DWSIM is a free, open-source chemical process simulator that complies with CAPE-OPEN standards. It is available for Windows, Linux, and macOS and is built on the Microsoft .NET and Mono platforms. DWSIM features a user-friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI), advanced thermodynamics calculations, support for chemical reactions, and tools for petroleum characterization and hypothetical component generation.
DWSIM allows engineers to simulate steady-state processes, vapor-liquid and vapor-liquid-liquid equilibrium, solid-liquid separation, and aqueous electrolyte equilibrium. Despite being open-source, it offers powerful capabilities comparable to commercial process simulators.
