SPTfoundation: Deterministic shallow foundation design using SPT data

SPT foundation is a spreadsheet that carries out deterministic shallow foundation design using Standard Penetration Test (SPT) data.

Furthermore, it is carrying out the SPT correction procedure, prior to evaluating the bearing capacity and settlement predictions, through various methods and equations.

The spreadsheet also plots the results of allowable stress in relation to the foundation’s width for the different methods used.

As for the blow count number’s (N) correction factors, these are:

• C_s: Liner correction factor
• Cr: Rod length correction factor
• Cb: Borehole diameter correction factor
• Ce: Energy correction factor

These values are test-dependent and can be set according to the SPT that was carried out in the user’s case.
