CADS Retain checks the stability of free-standing and propped cantilever retaining walls. It supports up to six limit states including: sliding and bearing stability, overturning, serviceability, ultimate and unfactored section design. Partial safety factors may be specified for each load component at different limit states. The Department of Transport standard - BD37/88 'Loads for Highway Bridges' is fully implemented.
Soil Defaults and Data - up to ten soil layers can be entered in each soil zone.
Wall & Surcharge Loads - imposed loads may be applied to the wall as vertical, horizontal and moment loads and skin loading to the base.
Wall Types - base and stem configurations can be specified to produce a wide range of shapes including walls which are propped and have keys or sloping bases, splays and battered faces. Mass concrete or masonry gravity walls are also easily modelled for maximum flexibility.
